Time Magazine's Variant Covers

Time Magazine oftentimes releases different covers in different markets. Here are three important examples of this. Please note that in the first two cases both stories appear in the issue. But the third issue as far as I can tell does not contain the variant cover story at all.

1.Answer these in this order. Why would they do this? Decide for yourself. Then look up why they did this if you can find anything.

2. Is this some form of censorship? Define censorship.

2. What are the general effects of this?

Please use the following path to these articles: go to NSU's website, library, databases, news and current events, and Academic Search Complete. Then type in the titles to find them. There are SIX articles here in THREE sets. YOU only have to read ONE SET. Sets will be assigned so that we can discuss each one.

"Friends with Benefits" by Carl Zimmer AND "The Most Important Man in Europe" by Michael Schuman (Feb. 20,2012).

"The Two Faces of Anxiety" by Alice Park AND "The Revolution's Second Act" by Abigail Hauslohner (Dec. 5, 2011).

"Chore Wars" by Ruth Davis Konigsberg AND "World Wanderer" by Reze Aslan (Aug. 8, 2011).
